Bipasha Hrangkhawl was born and raised in the remote village of Rangamura, Tripura. Growing up in a tribal community, she faced the challenges of limited educational resources and career guidance. However, her family’s emphasis on education laid the foundation for her ambitious dreams.

From a young age, Bipasha was fascinated by science and technology. Watching the TV show “Air Crash Investigation” with her father sparked her interest in aviation. She became captivated by the important work of air traffic controllers in keeping flights safe.

Overcoming Obstacles on the Path to Success

Bipasha pursued her schooling in local institutions, excelling academically. After completing her higher secondary education, she moved to Maharashtra to study Electronics and Telecommunications. This decision provided her with a strong technical foundation and opened her eyes to the possibilities within the aviation sector.

Upon graduating, Bipasha faced a difficult job market. She initially worked as a marketing executive, but her love for aviation never faded. Determined to become an Air Traffic Controller, she prepared rigorously for the exam, which is known for its rigorous selection process. Despite failing on her first attempt, Bipasha viewed this setback as a learning opportunity and redoubled her efforts.

Breaking Barriers and Inspiring Others

Bipasha’s perseverance paid off when she successfully passed the ATC exam on her second attempt in 2017. This achievement made her the first female Air Traffic Controller in Tripura, a significant milestone for women in the state.

As an Air Traffic Controller, Bipasha’s responsibilities include directing aircraft on the ground and in the air, ensuring their safe and efficient movement. Her quick decision-making, excellent communication skills, and ability to remain calm under pressure have made her an exceptional professional.

Outside of her demanding job, Bipasha is known for her compassionate nature and love for animals. She cares for four dogs and often feeds stray dogs in her community. Bipasha also enjoys outdoor activities like cycling and badminton, which help her maintain a healthy work-life balance.

An avid reader, Bipasha finds solace in philosophical texts, reflecting her introspective nature and desire for personal growth. She believes in the importance of continuous learning, both professionally and personally.
